Pension Waldkrieber is a 5-minute drive away from Hermagor, the next town, and a 25-minute drive from Villach, with its many cafés and shopping opportunities. The surrounding area (Gail Valley) offers a beautiful natural landscape with fantastic walking, hiking and cycling trails. Lake Pressegg is one of the warmest in the country, with temperatures of up to 28 degrees in summer, and is also a wonderful place for swimming and sunbathing. Next door you will find the Erlebnis Park, Carinthia's first adventure park, a great experience for the whole family. In winter Lake Pressegg is one of the first Carinthian lakes to freeze, offering plenty of opportunities for ice-skating. The lake is only a 3-minute walk away. The Nassfeld ski area is 20 minutes away by car, or you can catch the free shuttle bus, which stops a 3-minute walk away from the guesthouse. Nassfeld boasts 110 km of slopes with 30 ski lifts and cable cars. The Millennium Express is the longest cable car in the Alps, taking only 17 minutes to take you up to an altitude of 1,920 metres. Italy and Slovenia are only 30 minutes away and provide great opportunities for day trips.
